Manor Royal is set to benefit from £3.5m direct investment (which the BID is expected to lead on the delivery of), plus a further £4m linked to "Green Transformation", £2.5m for the Manor Royal based Innovation "Fusion" Centre (with another £8-9m for capital) and indirect benefits of £4.5m related to wider investment in skills.
How is the fund managed?
Crawley Borough Council is the accountable body but manages the fund via the Crawley Town Deal Board, a group of more than 50 representatives from local businesses, community organisations and public organisations. This will ensure each project remains focused on community and business needs.
Manor Royal BID is a part of the Town Deal Board as well as a delivery partner and chair for some of the projects that will benefit Manor Royal.
When will things happen?
Subject to Business Case approval by the Government's Department Levelling Up, Housing and Communities projects will be delivered in a phased way between 2022 and 2026.
