The results of our Manor Royal BID, 2025 'Move it' Travel Survey, are in, and a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to take part. Your feedback is essential in helping us understand how people travel, where the challenges are, and how we can continue improving transport, active travel and parking across Manor Royal, through the 'Move it' initiative.
The latest survey shows a continued reliance on driving alone, growing awareness of sustainable travel options, and clear priorities around improving pavements, cycleways, safety, and tackling congestion. Parking pressures remain a particular issue for those without on?site spaces, especially in the northern zone.
We simply couldn’t gather this insight or shape future improvements without your input.

Making Manor Royal’s streets healthier: Healthy Streets Audit tender now open
Manor Royal BID has launched a tender for a Healthy Streets Audit of the Manor Royal Business District. It’s an important next step in making it easier and more pleasant for people to walk, cycle and use public transport to get to and around the area.
The audit is part of Move It, our sustainable travel project, which supports the BID’s “Sustain and Renew” objective. Move It is delivered through the Crawley Growth Programme, working alongside West Sussex County Council, Crawley Borough Council, Metrobus, Easit and other partners. The audit is fully funded by our partners and will no cost any levy paying business on Manor Royal a penny.
Why an audit?
More than 900 people who work at Manor Royal took part in our surveys in 2024 and 2025. They told us what gets in the way of walking, cycling and taking the bus, from the condition of pavements and cycle paths to crossings, street lighting and bus services. One of the key recommendations was a Healthy Streets Audit to look at these issues in detail.
What the audit will do
Using the nationally recognised Healthy Streets approach, the audit will look at Manor Royal road by road. It will:
The findings will help Manor Royal BID and its partners focus investment where it will make the biggest difference to the businesses and people who work here.
“Our businesses and their staff have told us clearly what would help them travel more actively. This audit means we can turn that feedback into a clear, practical plan for improving Manor Royal’s streets, so that walking, cycling or catching the bus to work feels like a real and easy choice,” said Sam Bertie, Sustainability Manager at Manor Royal BID.
