The Black-Board on Gatwick Road

The Black-Board on Gatwick Road

You may have noticed a striking new billboard on Gatwick Road. The ‘black board' - as we have come to call it at The Commercial Park Group - represents the latest milestone on our journey to deliver a fresh way of working in Crawley at our new business park - Gatwick Park.

To be built on the former Northwood site, Gatwick Park is the most progressed scheme in our portfolio of office sites across the South East. Over two major new buildings to be built on the site - G1 and G2 - we have achieved planning consent for up to 200,000 sq ft of Grade A office space, which will be amongst the finest new office addresses in the region.

We selected the site because of its prime location within the Manor Royal business district, which boasts quick and easy links to London and the world, a strong business community and large skilled workforce. However, in recent years we have identified a shortage in the supply of new Grade A office developments at a time when many major businesses are increasingly looking to move their operations outside of central London - and wanted to address this.

With the expertise of Sir Robert McAlpine - whose notable projects include London's O2 Arena, the Bloomberg HQ and Eden Project - and the exceptional design talent of our contracted architect Urban Infill, we will deliver the high quality of accommodation demanded by international companies to Crawley.

Our wider vision is to pioneer a new movement for the local workforce to help them live better, work better and find zen in the office. Gatwick Park will not only regenerate ageing office stock on Gatwick Road, but completely transform the existing streetscape - creating green, modern workplaces that are enriching, energising and enjoyable places to work and spend time.

2019 is well underway now and already we're making strides at Gatwick Park. As well as erecting our ‘black board', we have agreed terms with the existing occupier of our G1 building to take back their lease and achieve vacant possession - thereby giving us a clear route to commence redevelopment work for the right occupier. Deliverability is our backbone at TCPG, and this latest agreement takes us one step closer towards delivering our vision at Gatwick Park.

Stay tuned for further updates!
