BID Hosts April People Forum
More than thirty five HR professionals from Manor Royal attended the BID’s latest People Forum this week to hear insights about the future of HR from Gary Miles, Director of International Operations and Associate Relations, Roffey Park Institute.
Using recent research undertaken by Roffey Park, Gary spoke about the future of work in the UK and likely trends that organisations will be facing in relation to the labour market. He looked at how HR teams will need to provide agile HR to drive and accelerate business strategy, rather than be a peripheral player that inhibits organisation development as the workplace evolves.
Guests also heard from Philippa Strachan and Alastair Thompson, both of HSBC, who spoke about the negative impact that poor financial planning can have on employees’ wellbeing. HSBC is offering Manor Royal companies the opportunity to host free seminars and employee financial health-checks via its Manor Royal branch.
Designed to provide meaningful conversations and best practice learning for those involved in the recruitment and management of people, the Manor Royal Forum meets quarterly and is open to anyone working in the business district.
This event was kindly hosted by Avensys on Fleming Way and organised by the Manor Royal BID exclusively for companies located on Manor Royal Business District.
The next People Forum will take place on 5 July between 12 noon and 2pm.
