Sussex Police - Protecting you online

In today's digital landscape, the threat of fraud and cyber crime is a reality that all businesses and leaders must face, no matter their size. As a small or micro business owner or larger SME employing staff, you might feel particularly exposed to these online threats, but at a bit of a loss as to where you can start to combat them, as things change constantly and you have a lot on!

As a Police Officer, I've seen first-hand how devastating cyber-attacks can be for businesses. Preparing for these threats is crucial to ensure your business's safety and business continuity enabling you to continue to make a living and protect your business and employees. Knowing the basics of cyber security and understanding how each person plays a role in maintaining it is essential for protecting your company's assets, reputation, and customer trust really matters.

The numbers are clear: cyber-crime accounts for about 50% of all recorded crime today, often meaning the loss of businesses in total with devastating financial effects for business leaders and their families and employees. In response to this growing threat, the UK Government (Home Office has partnered with law enforcement to create 9 Cyber Resilience Centres across England and Wales. These centres are dedicated to helping businesses of all sizes build the skills and knowledge needed to defend against cyber attacks, making the UK a safer place to live, work, and do business. I am part of the south east centre and I wanted to introduce myself to see how I can best support you?

Joining the Cyber Resilience Centre is completely free, there is no ‘catch’ we have a directive from the Home Office to reach all businesses in our region and we would like to start with you. As a member, you'll receive a comprehensive information pack filled with various cyber security services and products. Plus, you'll get a free consultation to evaluate your current cyber security measures and discover additional support the centre can offer.

One unique initiative is our collaboration with both universities across the country and key partners across the UK including membership based organisations, who advocate this scheme to better protect members of the SME community.

Through initiatives like the Cyber Resilience Centres, we can take action together to support each other online and keep you and your team safe. By equipping you with the tools and knowledge to defend against online threats, we aim to protect individual businesses and leaders just like you. For more information and to sign up, then please click the link below and enter your details and I will be in touch with you.

Thank you for your time and attention – stay safe!

Kind regards
