As every organisation throughout the UK has had to adapt to the extraordinary changes brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic (and its resultant lockdowns, restrictions and complications) over the past 12 months, one Manor Royal-based business has adapted and thrived.
Xpress Group, a design/print/signage company which has operated from the Manor Royal Business District near Gatwick for almost 30 years, has been at the forefront of mission-critical public information messaging over the past twelve months.
If it's been in the news since March 2020 - social distancing, facemasks, PPE, ever-changing government rules and advice, COVID-19 testing, Brexit, COVID-19 vaccination, ‘red list' countries quarantine, WFH, back-to-school, back-to-work - Xpress Group have been involved in the response.
Often with very short lead times and with clients largely working remotely (sometimes with reduced staffing levels), Xpress Group has produced solutions for:
• local and regional small businesses, SMEs and large corporates;
• civil engineering, construction and infrastructure organisations;
• local authorities;
• retail, restaurants and venues;
• schools;
• COVID-19 testing companies;
• Heathrow and Gatwick Airports;
• UK Home Office, Border Force, Public Health England and NHS
Reflecting on the past year, Graham Knight, Managing Director of Xpress Group, said:
"While there has been a huge amount of attention given, quite understandably, to the online world - online shopping, virtual meetings, working from home, remote learning - throughout the pandemic, it's worth remembering that real life happens in the real world. And in the real world, messaging needs to be designed, printed and installed!
Think of all the floor graphics, A-boards, social distancing graphics, posters, indoor and outdoor wayfinding systems, leaflets, banners, displays and screens you've seen and been guided by at every site outside your home in the past 12 months. And, as the country begins to unlock, everyone who visits a shop, a school, an office, a workplace, a park, a recreation centre, an airport, a transport hub or even a church will need to be guided and advised by printed material.
It's been a great source of pride for us that we've been able to serve our clients, uninterrupted throughout every twist and turn, across this extraordinary year. And we look forward to helping out further as things begin to unlock over the next few months."
