While Manor Royal does not suffer from high levels of reported crime, the lack of area-wide security has been a concern given the large number of businesses on Manor Royal and its proximity to Gatwick Airport.
The Manor Royal Business Rangers service incorporate a business liaison role and the ability to tackle issues directly and, where required, escalate issues to local authorities and the police - to identify anti-social behaviour hot-spots (such as litter problems and dangerous parking) and maintenance and environmental issues that require action throughout the business district.
The service builds on the ANPR and CCTV security services delivered by the Manor Royal BID, Business Watch and Sussex Police and is provided by Manor Royal BID using Crawley company, Blue Light Security.
Blue Light Security is passionate about using local businesses for their service and recently took a new delivery from Hendy Ford on Manor Royal.
Sean Keelan, Director, Blue Light Security said, "Huge thanks to our friends Hendy Ford and Nathaniel Ekins for providing the newest addition to our fleet. Hendy Ford are located on Manor Royal within the Manor Royal BID zone. We feel it is important to include supply chain partners from areas we provide services and always try to source locally first"
Steve Sawyer, Executive Director, Manor Royal BID, said, "This is a great example of keeping it local. The Blue Light Group, a local Crawley firm, do a great job for the Manor Royal BID and it's nice to see this commitment by Sean Keelan to looking at opportunities to use local Manor Royal suppliers."
