Gateway 1 (Hazelwick Flyover) entrance upgrade, including footbridge replacement
Gateway 1 is located on Gatwick Road adjacent to the dual carriageway leading from the M23 and the Hazelwick Flyover. It is Manor Royal's busiest access point. The intention is to make it more welcoming and attractive for visitors by creating a better sense of arrival. The project will be delivered in two main phases.
Phase 1 Completed. This included the re-design and re-introduction of the pedestrian footbridge in partnership with West Sussex County Council.
Phase 2 Involves completion of other aspects of the project, delivered as part of the Crawley Growth Programme. Work begins in November 2018 and will be completed early 2019.
Details of planned road works
Work will begin in November and last for approximately 8 weeks. There will be no road closures during this time but there will be some lane closures required so the work can be carried out safely.
